It can also have the opposite effect, especially if it is done properly with the proper advertising they can end up selling and gaining a lot more traction. ![]() That is why computer companies and software companies are loathe to disclose new versions well in advance of release. The word got out about how improved the second generation was, and sales of the first generation (Osborne 1) tanked, thus putting the company into bankruptcy before the second generation computer (Osborne Executive) could be brought to market.
